Meltdown in the 3rd letting Calgary pop in 5 goals, but glad to see Kamenev get his first NHL goal. Hopefully that gives him some confidence going forward and we can see him start to contribute offensively. The Avs need secondary scoring to contribute consistently as the LMR line can't carry this team all year.

As a side note I'm glad Sakic was smart enough to not spend money via free agency the past few off-seasons as we've got some big pay days coming for Rantanen, Zadorov, and company as their contracts are going to eat up some change. I think the long-term contracts is the way to go in the 7-8 year range as over time it seems like a bargain. MacKinnon at $6.3 million for this year and the next 4 is honestly a great deal for us if he produces at the rate he is.

The future is looking good for the Avs. Got to hand it to Sakic as I think we all had our moments where we seriously questioned his GM abilities (myself included).

Definite meltdown! If it wasn't for Smith this game wouldn't even be close. Flames dominated most of the game and deserved the win. #1 line was kept in check most of the night.

It was a meltdown and the first line looked very flat, McKinnon needs to back check. He looked really lazy out there.

All that being said that major penalty changed the whole tone of the game. That was not even a penalty worthy hit and there is no way it was a major penalty. Horrible officiating.

congrats you just beat the Avs who are missing 3 Top 9 forwards and had their minute eating Top 4 Dman kicked out of the game on one of the softest worst calls in the league.

Avs blew it but more than a few calls went heavily into the Flames favour last night

Sorry didn't realize they were missing so many quality forwards. Looked at their lineup and thought "how the fuk does this team win"! 1 awesome line the rest can't expect the top line to keep them in every game.
All the goals made for an entertaining game. Smith sucked and made it close.

Compher is sitll out from the last time the Avs flames played when Bennett hit him in the head with a high hit
